Waikīkī Wash

Blending sea-glass tones with a retro glow, these earrings echo the foam swirling on Waikīkī’s shore, where modern surfing was born and legends like Duke Kahanamoku first shared Hawai‘i wave-riding tradition with the world.

In his early teens, Leighton began making surfboards. This evolved into resin-based art and jewelry. 'Ear Art,' his first jewelry collection, was made from surfboard resin. That collection includes this piece. Leighton stopped making surfboard resin jewelry in the early 1990s and will not be making pieces like this again.
