Shiva Shell Hoop Earrings
Stainless steel wire with operculum shell and fire polish beads.
Size: 1.6" diameter or 4.5cm wire loop
This high polished shell is a shiva or operculum of a seashell. The operculum is like a foot and serves as a sort of trapdoor to close the mouth of the shell when the soft part of the animal is retracted. It is found on beaches throughout the pacific, no live shells are used to make them.
